Draw Write Now
Help children learn about the world while drawing, writing, and reading a picture book. Our books, Draw Write Now, combine drawing instruction with social studies, geography, history, science, writing, and handwriting.
Marie Hablitzel created the lessons when she taught second grade. Her lessons are easily adjusted to fit the teaching needs and styles of kindergarten through 6 teachers.
Spreadsheets of the Unit Studies
Cari Dierking, from South Carolina, kindly shared a downloadable spreadsheet she created in Excel labeled Draw Write Now Contents (26.5 bytes). She states, ". . . it lists all of the topics in each of the books, and is very helpful to me in homeschooling my children. I can quickly look at the spreadsheet and see if something we are learning about is in the books and in which book it is located. Feel free to pass it along to anyone that might benefit from it."
The spreadsheet includes eight sheets, (click on the bottom tabs), one sheet for each book. If you don't have Excel Software, the Excel Viewer is available from Microsoft. (Do NOT install Viewer on your computer if it already has a full version of Excel.)

Draw Write Now covers a broad range of subjects and is easily integrated into existing curriculum. It has greatly enhanced my thematic units . . . and my students absolutely love doing these lessons. Kayte, 1st / 2nd Grade Teacher
