Draw Write Now

The Draw Write Now series has over 168 lessons. The Swan and the Heron lessons are from Books 1 and 6.

Swan

Draw Write Now, Book 1 is our easiest book, and the swan is one of our favorite lessons. The swan is a large bird with a huge wingspan (depending on the species, up to eight feet). It eats water plants, using it's long neck to reach underwater to reach the roots of the plants.

Great Blue Heron

Draw Write Now, Book 6 is a unit study on oceans. The long-legged heron wades in the muddy, shallow water of the tidelands, watching for a fish to spear with it's sharp bill. The yellow note at the bottom of the page asks, "Do animals live in mud?" The answer is, "Yes, worms, insect larvae, clams and soft-shelled crabs thrive in muddy tidelands".
