OutliningChildren carefully draw their pictures using pencil, but the details can be lost when color is added. The addition of a black outline makes a drawing appear more colorful. The contrast of a little black can brighten a drawing. We like to use black crayon to cover the pencil lines, but also use a black marker (Papermate Flair or Sylist Pen) when working with finer details or when working with color pencil.
